Think pad and idea pad have its back ground to be in sync. The think pad was designed for business and corporate people, where in the Idea pad Y510 was designed exclusively for average customers. This Lenovo Y510 has 15 inches monitor and this is with an innovative design technique. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 ranges from US $814.99 with core 2 Duo processors Intel T2330 1.6 GHZ core. The 15.4 inches screen offers 1280×800 WXGA glossy displays. This Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 comes with the Windows Vista Home premium of 32 bit. This notebook has a matte black chassis design that in some way adds the look of ThinkPad line.

The new styled Lenovo Idea Pad Y510 has included a variety of novel ideas in it, to make it the best and outstanding notebook among the others. One such innovative feature of the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 is it has the display lid design, from the angled hinge and the textured weave pattern in the lid plastics, which makes it feel the touch of the rough fabric rather than plastic.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 has 2GB DDR2 System Memory and it is extendable up to 4GB and the graphics media accelerator is from Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. There is 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with Dual Layer CD/DVD Recordable Optical drive. The multimedia option supported by Lenovo Idea Pad Y510 includes the 4 speakers and 1 sub-woofer which give Dolby Home Theater effects. Video conferencing is made beautifully good with the 1.3 mega pixel integrated camera and the micro phone jack.
With apropos to connectivity and networking Y510 appears to support a lot. It has an in built modem with 10/100 Ethernet and an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG or 4965AGN thus giving an excellent networking capacity. The battery of the Y 510 is of 6 cells and including this battery the Lenovo Idea pad Y510 weighs only 6.4 lbs say 2.90 kgs. The dimension of this idea pad is as such 14.3” x10.2”x1.1 inch -1.4 inches and in mm it could be noted as 362mm x260mm x 29.2 -36.2mm with a warranty period of this notebook for 1 year and the warranty for the battery 1 year.
The hinge mechanism of the Y510 works well and helps to hold the lid in place. It could be found most probably that no flex to screen and thus making the entire chassis have a solid and more durable without any creaks.

As said, the Y510 has plenty of performance for a full range of multimedia entertainment, with its Intel X3100 graphics provide enough graphics horse power for video playback. But with playing games it is only with basic minimum requirements. Lenovo Y510 do have a program called wPrime, this program forces the processor to do recursive mathematical calculations. One advantage of this program is that it is multi-threaded and can use both processor cores at once, by this means giving more exact benchmarking measurements than Super Pi.
The 15.4” WXGA glossy screen on the Y510 is not ideal for HD video, but it does offer sharp contrast, excellent color, and very even backlighting. In addition to the advantage the 15.4” 1280×800 pixel displays on the Y510 does not suffer from graininess and both the straight-on and horizontal viewing angles were good. Unfortunately both vertical viewing angles were only average or sub par.
